More students want
experience than there are
placements to go round.

Placement year demand has grown faster than placement supply, and employers now screen with AI before a human reads a single application. We work with universities two ways: a free route for the students who will compete and win, and a managed programme that reaches everybody else.

THE PROBLEM

The gap is structural, not a bad year

This is not something a better careers fair fixes. The number of students who need or want work experience has grown much faster than the number of quality placements available to them.

Demand has outrun supply

More courses require or encourage a placement, more students want one, and the pool of good employer placements has not grown at the same rate. Some of your students will not get one however hard they try.

AI screens them out first

Students spend countless hours on applications that are filtered by automated screening before a human sees them. Effort no longer correlates with outcome, which is demoralising and hard for your team to answer.

Cost decides who gets one

Relocating for a placement year is expensive. The students who most need the employability boost are often the ones least able to afford to move for it.

TWO WAYS TO WORK WITH US

One is free. One reaches everyone.

Most universities use both. The free route serves your strongest applicants at no cost to anybody. The managed programme is how you provide experience at cohort scale.

COMPARE

Both routes place students into vetted European startups. The difference is who they reach and what you can promise.

OPTION A

Open access

Promote our platform to your students. They apply directly to live in person roles across the UK, Europe and beyond.

OPTION B

Managed programme

Work experience built into your curriculum as a module, or as structured short term experience, delivered by us.

Cost to the university Free Per student or per cohort
Cost to the student Free Free. Covered by the university
Who it reaches Your strongest applicants only Every student on the module
Placement certainty Competitive. Hosts decide, and we cannot confirm a place Capacity committed per cohort, agreed before the module opens
Format In person, UK, Europe and abroad Remote, or in person where the budget allows
Duration 3 to 12 months, full time Set by your module. Typically a set number of hours per week across a term
Credit bearing Not designed for it Yes. Built to fit your module and assessment
Widening participation Limited. Relocation cost is a real barrier Strong. Remote delivery removes cost and mobility barriers
Your team's involvement Promote it. Nothing else Design the module with us. We deliver it
Reporting None Cohort level reporting for your team and for access and participation returns
Best for The top tier of talent who will compete and win Cohort wide provision, and the students the free route will never reach

OPTION B IN DETAIL

Work experience as a module

Rather than sending students out to compete for a shrinking pool of placements, you build the experience into the curriculum and we deliver it. A set number of hours per week, across a term, inside a real startup.

01

Design the module together

Hours per week, term dates, learning outcomes, assessment and credit. We build the placement to fit your academic structure, not the other way round.

02

We source and vet the hosts

Startup hosts scoped against the module brief, with supervision capacity confirmed before any student is matched.

03

Every student on the module is matched

Not a competition. Capacity is agreed with you before the module opens, so no student on the module is left without a placement.

04

We deliver and support

Onboarding for student and host, check ins throughout, escalation handling, and a named contact for your team.

05

You get the evidence

Completion records, supervisor feedback and cohort level reporting you can use for module assessment and for access and participation reporting.

WHY REMOTE MATTERS HERE

Widening participation, in practice

A placement year in London or Berlin is only available to students who can afford to live there. Remote delivery removes that filter, which is the difference between an opportunity that sounds inclusive and one that is.

No relocation cost

Students participate from home. Rent, travel and living costs stop deciding who gets international experience.

Works around commitments

Caring responsibilities, part time work and health needs do not rule a student out of a remote placement the way they rule out relocating.

International exposure regardless

The host is a startup in another country. The student gets cross border working experience without needing a visa or a plane ticket.
