The Strategy, Sales and Digital Marketing course ran by theInterna has been truly amazing. Packed with content, diagrams and links to external platforms, I have learnt so many new things and it has broadened my areas of interest. I now feel much better equipped and have formed more of an idea of my career path when I graduate. theInterna also set me up with a brilliant internship in Spain, providing a flawless process from the initial call through to securing the placement, and it has been a pleasure having the agency as a point of contact. Without a doubt I would recommend theInterna.

Outstanding training and support provided by theInterna. The training comprised a variety of invaluable resources, presented clearly and concisely, with a good mixture of videos, articles and exercises to put our knowledge into practice. The calls were useful to consolidate what I’d learnt over the week and get clarity on anything I was unsure of. Not only do I feel better equipped to begin my internship, but I feel inspired to create my own startup in the near future!

I personally believe that this course was so beneficial for me whilst also on my placement. Joining a Start-up can be very fast-paced sometimes, and you often have to learn on the job. Doing this course alongside my job allowed me to learn some valuable skills that I needed in future weeks! What I liked most was the flexibility of the course, there were lots of resources that you could use, but if you did not have enough time, there were summary pages that were clear and concise! It as a great and very interesting course.

Frequently Asked Questions about Marketing Internships

A marketing internship is a work placement where you gain hands-on experience in marketing tasks like content creation, social media, email campaigns, or research.

These marketing internships are well-suited for placement year students and recent graduates undertaking an Erasmus+ traineeship, offering the opportunity to develop practical marketing skills, enhance their CVs, and gain valuable experience in a dynamic startup setting.

At theInterna, internships typically last between 3 and 12 months, giving you time to contribute meaningfully and learn across different marketing areas.

Most internships are designed for beginners, but having a portfolio, marketing coursework, or personal projects related to SEO, content writing, or social media can boost your application.

Marketing internships provide hands-on experience, industry exposure, and networking opportunities, helping you build a strong resume.

Marketing is a dynamic industry that continues to evolve with technology, consumer behavior, and digital trends. A marketing internship helps you:

  • Develop real-world experience in SEO, PPC, and social media marketing.
  • Gain insights into brand strategy and customer engagement.
  • Work on live projects with industry professionals.
  • Build a strong portfolio to stand out to future employers.
  • Network with top companies and marketing experts.

Some companies offer paid marketing internships, while others provide valuable experience, training, and networking opportunities.

A marketing internship offers hands-on experience across various areas of marketing, helping you develop essential skills. Your tasks may include:

  • Digital Marketing – Work on SEO, PPC, content marketing, email campaigns, and social media strategies.
  • Social Media Management – Create content, engage with audiences, and analyze campaign performance.
  • PR & Brand Management – Assist in media outreach, press releases, and brand reputation management.
  • Advertising – Support ad campaign creation, market research, and audience targeting.
  • Data & Analytics – Track performance metrics and optimize marketing strategies.

Interns tackle diverse projects, gaining exposure to different aspects of marketing while building a portfolio and industry connections.

Competition for marketing internships can be high, but having a strong resume, relevant coursework, and basic knowledge of digital tools like Google Ads and SEO can improve your chances. Applying early and tailoring your application to each opportunity helps.

Most internships are remote, but some may include relocation options. Each listing will specify the location and requirements.
