Internships in Marketing

Digital Marketing intern at a remote-first e-commerce startup

About the Company
This is the first social shopping network — a new kind of marketplace that’s social, transparent, and community-driven. Users are rewarded for sharing real opinions and honest reviews, helping others discover great products. Currently launching in Portugal and backed by €1.4M in funding, the platform is designed to put people, not ads, at the center of commerce.

The Role
We’re looking for a Marketing Intern to join at a key stage of growth. This role combines operational precision with creative thinking — from scheduling content and organizing assets to contributing to user engagement ideas and campaign flows. You’ll collaborate closely with the Head of Marketing and Marketing Coordinator and will have clear responsibilities and recurring tasks, but also the opportunity to take initiative, propose improvements, and grow within the team. If you’re structured, curious, and motivated to work in a real startup environment, we’d love to hear from you.

Responsibilities
Social Media
● Create and adapt copy and design using brand tone
● Schedule and publish content across Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn
● Monitor post performance and recommend improvements
● Research trends and formats relevant to our audience

Community Engagement
● Respond to user interactions using pre-approved templates
● Suggest ways to increase user and seller activity on the platform (both in the marketplace and social wall)
● Support gamification campaigns, challenges, or referral incentives
● Report user insights and community feedback

CRM & Email
● Maintain and segment contact lists
● Assist in creating and reviewing email flows
● Map retention or reactivation journeys and triggers based on user behavior

Content & Campaigns
● Write, upload, and format blog articles in WordPress
● Apply SEO metadata, internal linking, and basic layout standards
● Check for outdated content and broken links
● Support 360° campaigns like influencers, PR, or ads

Research & Insights
● Analyze what other brands are doing (and how we can do it better)
● Build collections of references (hashtags, campaigns, visuals, etc.)
● Keep an eye on what moves Millennials and Gen Z and what formats resonate with them

What We’re Looking For
● Final-year student or recent graduate in Marketing, Communications, or Business
● Fluent with good writing skills in English. Portuguese and/or Spanish are a huge plus
● A curious, organized doer who wants to leave their mark on a real project
● Bonus: you enjoy thinking about creators, marketplaces, or community-driven products

What You’ll Gain
● Practical experience in a 360° marketing environment
● A front-row seat to a product launch and real-time growth strategies
● Ownership of meaningful tasks that go beyond “just helping” (with team support)
● Space to test and iterate
● Exposure to tools like WordPress, Notion, Posthog, Google Analytics
● Mentoring from a Head of Marketing with over 15 years of experience
● Possibility of a longer-term opportunity after the internship

Outstanding training and support provided by theInterna. The training comprised a variety of invaluable resources, presented clearly and concisely, with a good mixture of videos, articles and exercises to put our knowledge into practice. The calls were useful to consolidate what I’d learnt over the week and get clarity on anything I was unsure of. Not only do I feel better equipped to begin my internship, but I feel inspired to create my own startup in the near future!

I personally believe that this course was so beneficial for me whilst also on my placement. Joining a Start-up can be very fast-paced sometimes, and you often have to learn on the job. Doing this course alongside my job allowed me to learn some valuable skills that I needed in future weeks! What I liked most was the flexibility of the course, there were lots of resources that you could use, but if you did not have enough time, there were summary pages that were clear and concise! It as a great and very interesting course.
